Walking is the safest and the best exercise during pregnancy. It can help shorten labor (I did not walk much during pregnancy - crazy work schedule and yet had a very short labor and a smooth delivery)

Hi!
I am 6 months preg. I have been walking right from day 1. Walking is good for the body and helps during delivery. There is no rule dat u have to walk only during the last months of pregnancy. I walk for atleast 30 - 45 mins every day. I also do all the housework like sweeping and mopping. Dont worry and start walking at the earliest. :-)

Hello Friend,

Sure you can start walking now, even I am eight months pregnant, but I started walking from the fourth month, atleast walk for one hour every day, infact best is a 45 mins walk either in the morning or evening and 1/2 n hour exercise either in the morning or evening, accordingly. Walking increases the flexibility of muscles, hence labour becomes easy.

Thanks
Jui

diet during pregnancy
Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.

During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.

A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
