Due Date Club January 2006:Archie...my update this week!

Hi Archie,

I understand when u dint wanna comment on my last post abt going for versioning or C. Because u are so experienced and always been a good freind here, I just wanted to know ur views and thts y i was so persistent. Sorry abt that!

Am in 37th week now and the baby is still breeched. The doc said the lil one inside is in transverse position this time. He said he would wait till i enter 40th week and if the baby still doesnt turn he will perfrom C-section. However, if we are interested in a versioning, he suggested we do it early next week.

As u advised, i did go thru some of the posts of Sushma's and even rv's... I guess we all are pretty much in the same boat. Also, considering the risks the doc mentioned abt the cord rupture and stuff...even we felt, C-section would be a good idea and forget abt versioning.

To be honest, as long as its a healthy, normal baby... ANYTHING is absolutely fine with both of us, we are kinda mentally prepared for that! The doc says my lil one inside could be around 8 pounds at the time of birth and is doing fine inside. My Group B test also was negative.

Take care n thanks once again!

Dear Shanti,
I did not wanted you to apologize and did not mind your persistence either. I had to be honest and open and that's why I told why I avoided.

happy icons I could ignore but remarks and question marked icons I usally look at and choose to reply or not depending on seriousness.

I had told my story to Suruchi and would repeat here. Advait was breech baby until 32nd week visit. I did not know why but somehow at my OB's office nurse who had checked baby in 28th and 32nd week position was concerned, but I was not. I knew there is plenty of time for baby to turn head down. He was head down right in 34th visit and I knew that from both ultrasound and external checkup. I was relaxed until 39th week. In my 39th week visit Dr. was concerned because Advait now was in OP position (sunny side up), this position usually in USA leads to C-section. I knew elsewhere they try to deliver this baby vaginally. We went for C-section and had expected miracle. I had confidence that Advait is very active and likely to get in normal OA position, would be very difficult it would be 180 degree rotation and kind of difficult bu next day when did a level 2 ultrasound he was already OA position (normal head down facing back). It's different that I ended up having an emergency C-section.
The point I am making is that active baby do keep changing positions even in this difficult time. But normally over 90% babies don't manage to change position. Transverse is not that bad position to turn head down but can't say.
Should youw ant versioning better to be done soon possible. But you both should be comfortable with Drs. experience and extrude confidence in procedure. Also like Sushma's Dr. had emergency plan, a C-section if required.

Although almost preggie want's to have vaginal birth, finally what matters is healthy baby and C-section is not bad at all! Had it been bad it would have not existed!

good luck
Archie

Hi Archie..

Thanks for taking time and share ur experiences with me once again. We have been reading and taking opinions from ppl who have gone thru this breech state of pregnancy and also have been thinking abt the external versioning. Yeah, i agree with u regd the expertise of the doctors who handle these kinda cases..thats what most of them told me too.

I , to b honest .. am not very scared of a C. Though I would very much prefer a normal delivery ... !! But then am also prepared for any kinda surprises.

As the count down started .. am a lil tensed and overwhlemed of how its all gonna be. I wish everything to work out fine!!

Take care then!!

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
