Due Date Club January 2006:Does Ghee Help?

Name: Ritu

Hello,

I am in my 37th week, and I have been very particular about my diet. My mother is visiting, and she is MAKING ME drink ghee, with warm milk every night. Does this really help in softening, and dilating the cervix? Or is this a myth? Has anyone else used ghee in their final month? I hate drinking it, but if it will help in delivery I dont mind.

Hi Ritu,
I delivered four weeks ago, I didn't drink a drop of milk through the first 8 months but the last one month I drank the milk+ghee every night without fail. I hated it but I kept the milk just warm enough to gulp it down in one shot with my nose closed ! Anyways I think it was worth it because once I started pushing -- the baby was out in 15 minutes and the best part was that i didn't have any lacerations (tearing or cut) and didn't have to take any stiches which made me recover faster after delivery. So girl Drink Up.... and good luck !!

Have any of you pierced your baby´ s ears?
Have any of you pierced your baby' s ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you' ve had any.

Ear piercing
My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.
