My daughter is 21 months old now and still gets up 7-8 times at night. I have got used to it . But it is very disturbing. It has started affecting my memory because for the past 21 months I have not slept soundly at night. I have started forgeting things and it is very disturbing. Now I have started working also. So it is all the more tedious and hectic. But if i do not give her bottle milk at night after she wakes up she will wake up in full swing and start searching for me in bed. Initially when she starts crying I give the milk bottle to her and she drinks it and falls asleep but if i do not give her milk she will wake up and start walking in search of me. Then it will be very difficult to make her sleep. She will take 20 minutes to sleep if she wakes up fully which will disturb my sleep also as if 1 time my sleep is disturbed I will not get sleep again. What is the solution.

hi priya. i completely identify with your situation. I started losing sleep and never had a chance to catch up in the day. I thought this was becasue I was breast feeding and I thought she liked to feej the warmth of my body. Does she start searching for you becasue she know you will eventually give in and give her milk. If that is the case you may need to be firm a couple of nights and just not relent. Kids are quite smart and will figure out when moms are going to give in and when they are not. You will of course have to be ready for crying and all that for atleast2-3 nights. But it si worth trying. Most mothers who breast feed also mneed to wean the kids of and often in a cold turkey fasahion the way I am suggesting.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
