Hi All,

My daughter is into 4month. she stays awake till early morning 3am, then sleeps till afternoon 1pm. once she is up, she plays and in between takes 3/4 naps for abt an hour or two each. she is very cranky from 1am to 3am. goes on crying and then finally after feeding falls asleep. i give her 9 feeds at around 2.5hrs gap per day with around 75/80ml of lactogen 1. on a daily babsis, its getting difficult to stay awake till so late in the night. can i do something to make her sleep early? she had bronchitis attack a month back, so i dont want to give her bath twice a day.

I remember when my son used to do the same. There was a phase when he used to get up at 10:30 pm sharp and reamin awake till 5 in the morning. It was so tiresome for us. This went on for two months continous. So we then got a cloth cradle and made him sleep in that...From then on, he started sleeping properly in the night. Also we used to try keep him awake in the evenings from 6 to 9. Then put hime to sleep in the cloth cradle. Once he is asleep we used to move to our bed....

anyways, once the babies start solids and play more, their time schedule will change. Infact babies behaviour is different each day/month...We just need to understand that and adjust. Also, when babies start teething, they will be more irritated and refuse to sleep sometimes.

hi padmaja

my son has completed 6 months and still the smae practice is keeping awake till 2.30 am continues. on few days he has stayed awake the entire night.

when i read urs, i felt like whether by mistake hv i posted one. dont worry - kids after started taking solid food, will change their cycle i believe. only after 7 - 8 months, their cycle will totally change as they get into lot of activities during day time and they get tired and sleep well at night.

so just b patient for couple of more months. try playing with ur daughter. my son doesnt cry if we sit before him and play - but only thing is we get tired and we at home cant b so cheerful to play with him at 2 am in the night....

so i switch on all the lights and put around all play items and we take turns to look after him.

Try the same. best of luck.

Cheers
Saradha

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
