Hello all...

I am currently in the 8th week of my pregnancy.I have already had a miscarriage in 2009.I am overweight right now at 85 kgs.I am scared about my weight gain through the entire pregnancy.I was trying to loose weight and conceived before coming to correct weight. My doctor has already run me through a Glucose Tolerance Test-1hour.she has also put me on progestrone tablets..The reports were all fine due to God' s blessing.

1.what diet can I take/steps that I can follow to stay healthy in this pregnancy?
2.Has anyone here given birth to healthy children with such weight issues..

thank you...

Hi Kr

Along with high fibre, also ensure to have good Iron and calcium supplements to help the growth of baby. Go in for organic supplements rather than the ones that you may get over the counter.

Also, dont worry. The mental tension that you may have will affect your baby. Enjoy every moment and be happy. Also you can go in for diet supplements to ensure that you get the adequate nutrients and vitamins and avoid unwanted weight gain as well.

Take care and wish you and your baby good health.

eat foods that increase digestive fire , add ginger to your diet, have enough fibre like 2 soaked apricots every morning, and increase your metabolism through yoga and walking

Hi kr

This is the second time I am replying as my post was taken away for reading which I found strange and then I see the reply just now from Priyanka and its strange but some of that reply is from my reply how strange!! But anyways she is right you do not eat for 2, you eat as and when you need to and many small meals throughout the day, but you can also indulge in junk food once in a while try and stick to fresh made foods and lots of fruit. As for putting on weight, unless you put loads on it will not affect the child, it may make your child bigger, when I was pregnant with my first child I was pretty huge but it was all baby weight.
Otherwise try and find a yoga class for pregnant women and try and walk for long distances every morning and evening, as far as you can handle that is the most gentle and healthy exercise you can do and the yoga will help all your ligaments too. Dont forget to drink plenty of fluids
take care

It is suggested that you eat what you feel like. But as far as possible eat healthy and eat in small portions through out the day..Pregnancy doesnt mean you have to eat for two.Your baby will aquire food according to its need.Hence eat only when you feel hungry.
