Hari Hara Madavan replied. Hi,
You can try showing him books with pictures of Domestic animals, Wild animals, vegetables and fruits etc.. and make him identify on his own...
We have been doing this for my kid, who is 15 months old now... You can also stick charts showing alphabets and numbers so that he constantly looks at them and gets interest..
All the best!!!
Regards,
Hari.
Deepthi replied. Hi Priya,
To teach ABC and numbers, let him learn at his own pace, but it helps a lot if you can sing him the ABC song and also tell him 123 in a song-like way..Kids learn quickly through songs and rhymes..You can sing him rhymes with you showing lots of action for the songs.Put in numbers while counting his fingers or any game he plays. Also for my daughter, now 20 months, I used to countdown the numbers when heating up milk in microwave and she used to enjoy that. Also books are a great help..Get some books with pictures and alphabets and you can point and teach him what each picture is. This way you can teach him animals, animal sounds etc. Just keep in mind not to start teaching him anything in earnest..make it all a fun game, if he is interested good, else let him take his own time!! don' t hurry him..
lots of luv to your little one..

sarah replied. first of all noone can teach your child better than you.
secondly about 18 months- he should know most of his body parts, its ok if he is not intrested in numbers and abc try teaching him nursery rhyme actions, a little bit of painting just scribbling i mean.
try and spend as much time you can with him, he will learn by himself the things that intrest him.
