This is a South Indian sweet. Just like Jilebee, soaked in sugar syrup. However, its texture is soft, same orange colur though. Does anyone have a recipe? Post it please and thanks.

Hi Nichole,

Here is the Recipe which I prepared for Diwali.

Ingredients:

Urad Dhal - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1 pinch
Oil - for deep fry

Procedure:

1. Soak urad dhal for an hour.
2. Grind Urad dhal into a fine paste with no water. If needed add very little probably 3-5 spoons of water.
3. Heat the oil.
4. put sugar into half cup of water and make sugar syrup.
5. take a plastic cover like [ aavin milk cover) and cut one corner.
6. put the dough into the cover and do the jangri shape inside the oil.
7. just after removing from oil put it into the sugar syrup.
8. after sometime remove from sugar syrup and put it seperatly.

Note: Keep the oil in low heat so that when we you do the shape it will not move. so you got keep low heat when you do it on the oil and after that you got to increase the heat to fry.
