Hi, since my delivery date is not far off... thought will get serious about baby shopping. Few doubts thought of getting clarified by you gals...

1. newborn diapers is there any brand preference to look for?? since this is my first baby i am not that aware of the best brand.

2. what to look for while buying a ear thermometer?? i saw one in babiesrus store.. which says 3mths plus.

and

last ques about laundry detergent.. i read DREFT is the best brand for baby laundry. what do you gals say??

1. Definitely Dreft detergent. No fabric softener.

2. Newborn diapers--why not try a couple different brands? Personally, I like Pampers Swadlers for little babies, and then I switch to Huggies when they are a few months old. Don't ask why. hahahaha

3. I never had use for ear thermometer, only regular digital which I take under the arm.

4. Depending on the climate of where you are, I like different types of sheets. When it is cold out, I like to use the soft, fleece-like sheets.

5. Also, if it is cold where you are a diaper warmer might be a good idea. However, I also place a package of wipes on our vent heater and it works just as well.

rv,what i heard from my friends is Dreft is very good detergent.Diapers pampers and huggies r good,whichever suits baby.Hey sunshine where r u from TamilNadu ,iam from chennai.I live in Virginia.My due date is JAN 21st.Getting tenesed now-a-days.Did u guys selected baby names?

i have one more question how many dresses baby needs for first few days...

I am also 36weeks 4days as of today.According to my friends who had babies already dont buy lot of newborn Diapers buy one pack and have unopen.at present i bought pamper swaddlers one pack.then abt the brand no one can tell which will suit ur baby skin.Better observer what they r using in hospital and u can use the same later.if u keep the pack unopen and ur baby is little big u can change to size1 after brith or to another brand.
Abt detergent yes DREFT is good u can get in babiesrus itself.
abt thermometer i bought especially for baby from babies rus for 19$ i think.
