i delivered my baby girl on 12th feb ie 17 days back. i had severe cracked nipples from the beg and so everytime feeding her was a nightmare.now iv somehow got used to it. but a new problem is that suddenly for past 2-3 days my supply of milk seems to have gone down. i can feel the difference and im very upset about it. doctor has given me a tablet called perinorm to be takne thrice a day for 10 days. i feed my baby every 2-3 hours but im not sure whether she gets milk or not and whether its sufficient. what do i do? should i wait and see for 2 more weeks to see her weight during first month check up and decide on whether i should go in for a supplement formula or go to paediatrician right away? pls advice. Krushna replied. If you take the tablets, then there should be sufficient milk supply. Dont give formaula. The babys weight is the only way to know that she is getting enough milk. Other way to find out is making sure that she passes urine atleast 6 times a day. It means she gets enough milk.During early months babies cry even when they r full, due to gas and colic, so just because she cries does not mean she does not get enough milk. Also the milk supply increases as you feed her more and longer, i.e atleast 20 minutes on each side at one sitting.
