Due Date Club February 2008:Backache -(

I am in my 14th week and already I have been having mid-back ache since few weeks. I work sitting in front of the computer whole day. I keep a leg rest and walk few minutes every hour and drink plenty of water too. My ergo chair is comfortable and well adjusted for me. Still I' m having mild pain all through the day and everyday. I don' t know what else to do to get rid of this pain.

I was wondering if anybody else has pain like this. I don' t know if I need to call the doc or wait until the next checkup. Walking helps but can' t afford to be out of my desk for long time. I wonder if this is my pregnancy gift or because of taking care of my almost 3 yr old daughter at home.

I too am under the same circumstances as u. But i can give u a suggestion. If pos keep a small pillow as back rest on ur chair. This will definately work. When back home, take use a hot water bag for an hour or so. There r a few v. good exercise for us , but hw do i tell u. Let me try.
1. lie flat on ur back, then while inhaling lift one leg up and keep it back while exhaling. Repeat with the other leg. (there is a name, but i dont rem, i saw it yesterday on Tv.
2. Now do the same exercise , but this time with 2 legs.
3. Lie on ur back. Fold ur knees, hand on ur side, palm facing down. now inhale and lift ur back with the support of ur palm. Exhale and go back.

Believe me, just 10 min, and it would work wonders.

Hi ck

I also have backache like you. I also sitting in front of the compter whole day. You know what I do is, I used to keep my back straight all the time while sitting. I know its slight uncomfortable to keep back straight all the time. but It really helps in reducing the pain. Yes you are doing right thing, walking up.

I remember my first pregnancy and backaches :-)

Small Tip - if you have back pain in Lower back then it is due to expanding belly and pressure on spine. remedy - sleep on sides.

if you have pain in uppper back/Shoulders/Mid section then it is mostly due to increase in breast size. remedy - Please try out a size bigger bra and you are 100% guranteed to feel relief. :-)
