Sleeping:Falling asleep!

my son who is going to be a year old wants to be BF everytime he takes a nap.We have tried all possible ways to make him sleep without BF but every attempt has been a failure. He plays, eats and spends time with his dad or grandparents but when it is sleep time he wont let anyone else make him sleep except me.He keeps crying till i pick him up and BF him to make him sleep else if i go out during his nap time sothat someone else can make him sleep he skips that nap altogether and becomes cranky.I want to start weaning him off BF but have not been able to.At night also he wakes up couple of times to BF and if i avoid feeding him he starts wailing till he is BF.Any suggestions on how to overcome this problem and also how to start weaning him off???

Have you tried using a pacifier for some time?

Also if your baby is now 1 yr old, maybe you can let him cry for some time...if he is not in pain, is well fed etc, then you can try leaving him in his crib with his fav blanket/toy, dim the lights and leave him to go to sleep on his own..

I just read \" Health Sleep Habits - Happy Child\" and it is working for me (been only 2 days), but believe me it is so wonderful to be able to sleep a bit...

I' m facing similar problem. Whenever I' ve put my 1 year old son to sleep, he insists on nursing. If refused, cries like hell. He' s ok when I' m away. From monday to sat. maid puts him to sleep during daytime. But on sunday and every night I need to put him to sleep. When I try to refuse he goes into panic state and I give in. When this happens during night he wakes up crying every hr or so for nursing after that. Please suggest how to stop this without making my son distressed.

Thanks,
worried mom

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
