Do you know why you celebrate Nag Panchmi? Are you aware of the real significance of Nag Panchmi? What are the beliefs behind worshipping Snake God and offering him milk and flowers?

I agree with Malini that we should not exploite snakes on the day of Nag Panchami instead of that we can workship snake idols or visit temple of snake God. It is very necessary to spread the message of protecting snakes on this day. On this auspicious day people should learn to preserve the culture at the same time they should make sure that they do not harm snakes on this auspicious day of Nag Panchami.

All the Hindus should take an oath on this Nag Panchami that we will protect snakes on this day. Under the name of Nag Panchami people exploit snakes which is not correct. Many Snakes die on this day due to overfeeding them with milk and other things which they do not prefer to eat. Therefore, my message to everybody on this occasions of Nag Panchami is that they should only worship snake idols on the occasion of nag panchami and stop exploiting snakes on this auspicious day.

Celebrating nag panchami is basically worshipping snake god by offering him milk, flowers, kumkum etc Some people also fast during nag panchami. It is very auspicious day for Hidus. Hindus also bring idol of snake god (Nag) on this day and worship him.
