I had my baby on january 11th...that makes my baby 6 days old..I have cracked nipples at the base and also at the tip which makes me really hard to breastfeed her..ALso have ergorgement due to heavy flow of milk..i express the extra milk and store in a feeding bottle and feed her..
I have not stopped breastfeeding her.. Is till breastfeed her as its best for her..My gynaec has given me a cream called 'NIPCARE'.which gave me relief for a day,but now its back to square one..even the creme is not helping much..What should i do??
I usually breast feed her for 15-20 minutes is that enough for her every 2-3 hours..If she sleeps for more than 3 hours i feed her for more than 30 mins is that enough for her...??
Kindly advice me on this..

jes, now about feeding your baby,,until 2months of your baby life, feed her every 2-3hours,,the gap should not go above 3-4hours,,she needs those feeds,,dont compromise on that when your baby needs that.
it doesnt matter how long you feed or for how many mins,,because you dont know your supply ! with breastfeeding,,its recomnded to breastfeed every 2-3hours until baby is 2months complte..after that you can allow upto 3-4hourrs,and thn breastfeeding,,,
yes about your engorgement,,,maintain the supply by removing that milk and store it nicely,,,make sure to continue doing that,,,try to breastfeed your baby before you think engorgement starts,,,so that you avoid engorgement and baby gets good hindmilk as well as foremilk ! and after you are done breastfeeding,,pump the rest.
if its not the feeding time and you have got the engorgement thn, what you are doing is the best....
continue what you are doing,,if it is more comfortable to the routines that your baby has shown !

i strongly recomnd you to go thru the post above for 1month feeds,sleeping schedules and other 1months old details..watch your baby wght and it will tell you how you are doing with bm supply !
