A diet rich in olive oil enhances the health. olive oil has a protective effect against certain cancers -breast, prostate, endometrium and colon.It helps to maintain the blood pressure at normal range. The antioxidants found in olive oil can fight cholesterol. It is also a potent blocker of intestinal contractions. Daily consumption of olive oil helps the cognitive function, may prevent strokes, reduces the risk of diabetes and obesity and can prevent osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis.

olive oil is a monounsaturated fat that does not increase levels of cholesterol and triglycerides so it is the healthiest choice. It is rich in antioxidants squalene and polyphenols.
Antioxidants scavenge free radical molecules known to increase general cellular inflammation.It is the most important part of Mediterranean diet and is known as liquid gold.
