Speech:Speech Delay

my son is 3 yrs old and is not talking. he hasn't said his first words yet, he doesn't do any \";point and show\"; gestures. he just leads us to what he wants and communicates that way. only if he gets extremely frustrated, he cries. we are doing speech therapy now, but it seems to be going nowhere. otherwise, my son is normal in all other developmental aspects, just speech is not there. has anyone had similar problems. please enlighten me, i live in the US, it is very difficult to get him tested here as the waiting list for such pedeatricians is very long. he follows commands with lot of repitition, but his hearing is said to be normal. sometimes we don't know if he is deliberately ignoring commands or geniunely not understanding us. any help/advice will be appreciated. he is going to part time school, he seems to be doing well there, though he doesn't talk, he plays with other kids. please let me know if u have any pointers.

If you live in the state of New York, There is a program called early intervention. We supected a delay in speech when my son was 16 months, and we contacted early intervention. They do a free speech therapy right away..no waiting lists. Look for such programs in your state if its not new york

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
