i wanted to share a very big concern here. A frnd of mine told me that we have to do nucous test (i hope i spelled it correct, rahter named it correct) which is to be done in between 11th and 13th week. it is actually measuring of fuild thickness on the neck of the baby which assures if baby is alright.
It is one of hte most important tests coz it confirms whether the baby have any chances of not being normal. I am sorry to put this rather fearful topic but i hope u understand my concern also. I love my baby a lot and this fear is constantly fighting my inner happines and peace.
i really need to know if u ladies have already done it? whether u will be doing this test? and the details of it.

i can understand you must be scared as ur hubby is not with u right now. its a good idea to take a friend along..
gawd..i still have many days before my scan n the tension is killing me.....my doc said he will do the NT scan n a blood test for me!! i live in hongkong but sometimes i wish i was in india close to my near n dear ones during my pregnany..!!
neways, all the best. plz do update once ur thru with the scan.

reema replied. hi now a days nt test r nt done separetly ...not is amniocentesis done ...as they r back dated tech ... all docs now go for a triple or quadrple test ...whcih gives the whole idea of neural dev,chromosomal error,etc...also though genetics play a role... age is more imp ..as i will b crossing 30 now my doc did it for me wll parameters showed low risk for me
this test is done between 17 th to 20 week done before or after doesnt give correct results

Nuchal transclucency screening or NT scan fold is done for everybody between 11-13 weeks. It helps to assess ur baby' s risk of down syndrome n some other chromosomal abnormalities.
Doctor will measure the clear space in the tissue at the back of our baby' s neck thru a ultasound.. if there is a abnormality found, then you might have to go for CVS or amniocentesis to find out if the baby is actually affected..
I know it sounds scary... i have my NT scan this mnth end n im nervous too. This is one scan im waiting to get over with.!!
But dnt worry, if you dnt have a family history of a down syndrome child or ur not over 35yrs of age there is very less chance of finding any abnormalities.
Lets all pray to god that all of us get good results!!

Relieved

Hi ladies, I got my Nucal test done few days back and the conuting is well within the limit. My baby is safe and healthy, however i still ahve to do the triple blood test that will assure that baby is not suffering the Down´ s syndrome.
Moreover the palce i visited for my scan was having hte 4D scan system and u cna see your with that perspective, as if it is palying in the cot. The sight was wonderful and i am already on the ninth cloud since then.
Thanks a lot for ur blessings and prayers and i pray to God that all your babies would be heatlhy and safe too.
Check with ur radiologist if they have the 4D scan system, its really great to see ur baby in that.

Scared

Thanks alolika for the information. I will be meeting my dr. this evening and get all teh details and appt. for this particular scan. Iam really really scared, moreover my hubby is not around these days, so i am along in Dubai and this makes me worry more. I will surly be taking a frnd along for this test or else i will get a heart attack out of anxiety.
I relaly hope everything is fine. All the best you all too. Please pray for our little ones, i hope he is healthy and fine.

horlicks with milk

i know for sure horlicks is absolutely fine with milk.. but in pregnancy i was adviced to have mother' s horlicks since it has DHA and some other stuff that are good for the baby...
