Hey guys, just wanted to share my experience with you. Last evening, I came bak home from work and went to the restroom and realized that I was spotting (blood was bright red). I immediately called the advise nurse and she I could wait and see and go to the hospital this morning, but I insisted they see me last evening. So, I went to the labor and delivery unit of my delivery hospital and they put me on a monitor and looked like baby was doing fine. They, then checked my cervix and it wasn't dilated and also did a vaginal check and couldn't find any blood anywhere. The doctor said that for some unknown reason pregnant women bleed and that everything seemed to fine with me...The whole process took close to 3 hrs and i was completely drained by the end of it.........
The whole experience was quite nervewrecking and I have decided to stay home and relax for the next four days and see how it goes.
Since all of us are more or less close in the last trimester, please do get lots of rest whenver you can. It is really important during this stage.

Avi replied. Thanks Preetu, Simmi, Ritu, Uma and Tina for your comforting and kind words...
I am so glad we have each other to lean on at good times and in bad.
Like ya'll said, we all need to rest and take extra care of ourselves at this stage of our pregnancies....
I just want these 10 weeks to go by as fast as possible and have my little boy out safe and sound... :)
Uma, thanks a lot for your support.. you are a few weeks our senior..do take care and rest up..I hope you are done with your most of your shopping...and I assume your parents will be here soon too... :)
Preetu, you are right about getting the rest.. I can understand the pain involved with sitting at work for long hours...I have it too..you would think sitting shouldn't hurt us too much but it does. I read somewhere that you should take 30 min of rest (lying on your side) throughout the day, in the last trimester....
Ritu, I am sure going through the experience early in your pregnancy was scary and nervewrecking and I am glad everything is good for you...Thank god for that...I will surely try and get a lot more rest from now on and you do the same.
Simmi, the pain you are experiencing is due to stress (physical)..do try getting a lot more of that rest and do try the pelvic floor exercises......or swimming (anyting to take that weight off of your groin/pelvis will surely help)..
Tina, I am glad everyting is fine with you and your baby... you are right I should check into claiming disability for these two months. I was under the impression that you can only claim it for work related injuries/disablities.. but will surely check into it.... thanks..
Tina replied. Hi Avi
I was just reading your post. Gald to know all is fine with your baby, hope you are feeling better now and the pain is gone. I also had a similar mild case last week where the was a pale pink color dischage and I had just been in a minor acident a few days before that. So I was immediately advised to go to emergency and everything was fine. The nurse who checked me also said that some pink or red spotting can occur if you have had sex recently or a pelvic exam because there are capiliries in the vagina that can burst and the blood is from that.
Also read your post about your leave from work. Hope can claim disability insurance for the time you will be away from work.
take care
Uma replied. Hi Avi,
I just read ur msg, that was bad i must say but lets see the positive side that ur baby is doing fine and everything was fine. But yes its scary spclly at this time.
But don't worry, take rest and have faith in God.
Take good care,

Ritu replied. Hi Avi,
Just read your message. I read the first line and was really scared. Thank God everything is okay. I had bleeding in the 7th week for a few hours and I remember how horrible that experience was..and to experience something like at 30 weeks would be a 1000 times worse..But believe me as everyone else said..rest is the best solution..Just be patient and lie in bed getting up only when really reqd.. and remember absolutely nothing else is more important ...I had taken a lot of rest and it really worked and I was back to my active self in by the second trimester..
All the best and please take a lot of care..
Ritu
Simmi replied. Hello Everyone. Being in the different time zone I missed on reading ur messages yesterday. I hope you all are feeling better now.
I too have been having severe pains in my legs and groins and rest is the best answer. So let's share our resting remedies with each other.
Have a nice relaxed weekend.
Take care.

Priya replied. Avi, I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago. Just a little red spot.Thankfully I was at work, so I just walked across the street to my doctor. They checked the heartbeat etc. All seemed in order. They also did an internal exam, just to be sure ( having one this late in pregnancy caused excrutiating pain!). I panicked , my husband cancelled all his meetings and rushed to me. I was told that there are glandualr cells in the inside of the cervix that sometimes grow outward over the outer layer. They can bleed sometimes...nothing we do induces that. Of course if it happens again, call the doctor immediately.
All's well now.
Take care
Ruchika replied. Hi Avi,
Hope you must be feeling fine. So sorry to hear about your scary experience. You did a right thing by going to hospital at the same time.
Just take rest and no tensions. Also take lots of fluids.
we all should take extra care during this last home stretch.
Cheers

Bar replied. Sorry to read abt ur spotting.
I went through one night of hell myself.
My BP shooted up last friday. I was admittied and monitored all night for BP and also babies heartbeats. Babies are doing fine. My BP came back to normal in 1 night itself. I am under no salt diet now. And feeling good after 2-3 dys of rest.
I realsize the importance of rest now.
I completed 35 weeks. Jus few weeks I have to be on rest. Arshiya, I know its so boring to be in rest. I get contractions these dys... u get them at the end eventually. When I rest or take it easy they never come... Even the pelvic pressure and spotting everything will subside with rest.
Regarding bedrest, I can go around in the house, I try to not walk or stand a lot, sit in bed with pillows and with laptop if I am bored, or lie down on side thats the best. And talk to frends on phone and tell my parents to be in my room to not feel lonely.
How do u manage Arshiya?
Take care girls...
And most imp... REST

Vindhya replied. Hi Avi,
Thats sounds so shocking, I am glad everything is fine. Take lots of rest. If possible, postpone your childbirth class for next week.
It's so relieving to hear that the baby is doing fine. You did a good thing by asking them to check everything last evening itself, I wouldn't have waited either.
I have an appointment this afternoon as I am suffering from severe stomach pain. Have taken Tums for time being.
Hope our babies stay put till our due dates.
Take care,
Vindhya
Arshiya replied. Avi,
Seems like you went through the same thing I did. Make sure you take lots of rest. I also had samething happened to me. I think since you are also having some pelvic pain/pressure, when you work a lot, stay on your feet and stress yourself a lot, it happens. I also had spotting at the end of the day and I totally freaked out. Also, my pain is more severe in the evenings and nights. I know, it's all because of stress at work. But, we don't need that right now, specially at the last stage of pregnancy. So, be careful and relax for a while now. If it's possible stay home for rest of the time.
I am actually getting bored to hell at home but I rather stay home and relax then having something bad happening to my baby. It's only for about 2 more months.
So relax and keep us updated on your health.

I am glad everything was fine with you and the baby..it must have been stressful for you and your hubby...
My doctor couldn't find anything that would explain the bleeding I experienced. I have a regular prenatal appnt next week. May be she'll have something more to say then...

Hey Bargavi, I did read about your experience on your board and was glad to hear that your babies and you are fine..
I can only imagine how fearful the whole episode would have been for you, especially since you have not one but two babies to take care off......
You are almost there Bar, just a few more weeks and you will have two beautiful girls with you..
Like Arshiya said, it's great you have your parents with you..take care and get lots of rest...

Hope you are feeling better now. I know, I also realize the importance of rest now. We really need it at this stage.
I am in 31st week, and about 10 more weeks to go. My bedrest is also modified at this time, so I can go around the house, get up to eat and to cook and stuff. Good for you, since you have your parents with you, someone to talk to, but I am all alone at home. Well, my husband keeps some food/drinks in our bedroom before he leaves and then I have a TV upthere and lots of parenting books to catch up on. Also, Laptop is there, so I spend my time here and there. And, in the afternoon I make sure that I sleep for 2 to 3 hours. I think we will have to leave with it for now.
Take care and rest.

Hey Arshiya, thanx for your support....
ya know, I did think about you yesterday after I came back home and now I can imagine how disturbing the whole experience it must have been for you....
I am still trying to get over the whole episode..
You are right about resting......our babies are the priorities now and not our jobs or anything else....I was supposed to be off from sep 15th but my boss asked me to stay back till the first of Oct.....Since I was scared of stayin home and getting bored out of my mind, I said yes to him just yesterday...now I am surely reconsidering it...
Thanks again and do keep yourself occupied at home - I have been reading "what to expect the first year" and it is very informative....... I always wanted to read the Bhagvat Geeta and I bought it when I visited India a few years ago....this is a good time for me to start reading it... :)
