Having been facing a slight problem. My 6 week old Dhruv is cranky at non specific times. So colic is ruled out. He is cranky especially when I breast feed him. He latches and unlatches and cries uncontrollably. I have tried Zantac on the ped's advice, but no relief. I bottle feed him twice a day and he roughly takes about 4-6 ounces of formula in a day (both feeds included). When he is on bottle he drinks continuosly till he finishes a substantial part of it, where as when on breast he either cries loudly or sleeps in 5 minutes.

I had not bottle fed my daughter, so am keen on keeping the bottle for my son.

What could be the problem. I am trying hard to listen to the cries to see if it is a cry of pain, or boredom etc. I cannot makeout. I burp him regularly. I am really exhausted.

Pls give me some tips.

Also give me the best breast pump details in terms of cost, hygeine, convenience etc.

I have a baby who is 7 weeks old and I am facing the same problem. I was breast feeding him until recently..but now he only wants to drink from the bottle and cries when I breastfeed him. I have heard that madela electric pump is very good. Manual pumps are less expensive but time consuming. Regarding hygiene as long as the bottles are sterilized there should be no problem.
