Hi All, This is an amazing and informative forum
my wife is nearing 6h month of pregnancy and am as most of
us a bit confused about finding a good gynec in bangalore
currently we are consulting Dr Anu Sridhar at fortis, bangalore
we find that
1. She is always a bit in hurry
2. Doesnt really talk much, like in our case this
being our first pregnancy, she gives no basic advices
like posture while sleeping, diet etc. unless we ourself ask
3. So far has simply said that everything is normal after all the
scans (initial, 3 months and 5 months). In a way
this may not be bad, as she does not scare with excessive info
Regarding fortis bannerghatta, feedback by ppl has been from ok to very bad

so am confused
1. should we change the doc, in that case to whome
(have read about dr poonawaala, prob is that i think she does not know kannada
which is a bit important for my wife as she is not good in hindi/english)
2. consult same doc at some other location/clinic

Hello Ram please do not panic and dont worry so much if the doctor has said that everything is normal then why need to worry and just be positive in the mean time you can always take advice of some older ladies in your home. Why are you not speaking to the doctor personally instead of changing just speak to the doctor as she can change for you guys and try to give her best and attention and also your wife is comfortable with doctor. Hi have a consulting done with some other doctor and if you feel that the new doctor is giving proper advice and giving proper time then change the doctor do not change before getting the new doctor. Hi there please change the doctor and according to me you should find one which is nearby to your home as it will be difficult to travel in the coming weeks and also it is not advice sable to travel. Hi there no need to take the tension and just change the doctor immediately as you need good doctors who take good care of your wife and also make your wife comfortable at this point of time. Hi there this is really sad that your doctor is not attending you guys properly, you can always tell the doctor the same and then also she behaves the same so you can change the doctor. Hi dear please do not panic and search the doctor as this will no help when your nears to the delivery as that point of time she requires to meet the doctor almost everyday and that will not work with this doctor as you mentioned. The doctor should always talk properly to the patient as its his or hers duty and one must not ignore, in your case i think you should change the doctor in the mean while you dont have any senior lady in your family to guide in this. I hope you had a baby without any complications. I am replying to your question so that no one is in my situation after consulting Dr. Anu Shridhar.

I consulted her as I was having irregular periods. Yes, as you felt we also had the same feeling that she did not talk much. But we ignored thinking she would tell in case necessary. But as my period issue was not sorted after consulting her for more than 8 months I decided to go for a second opinion.

Today I am in a situation where I have wasted the very less time I had to conceive. I may never have a baby of my own eggs. I was misjudged by this doctor as a PCOS patient and she treated me for it without even taking a confirmation thru blood tests. And when I visited dr anu and asked why would she ignore even after I alarming her, all she had to say was, I will write to the Infertility specialist. Please visit her.

I am consulting another doctor for a possible case of premature menopause. Anu shridhar wasted my 1 year time where if basic blood tests were done and if my low ovarian reserve was diagnosed, I may be could have a baby of my own eggs.

Please don' t trust any doctor just because someone referred her. And never continue getting treatment if you even have slightest of doubt about your doc is my advice.

I had my baby last Sep and I was consulting with Dr. Au Sridhar who was suggested to me by an office colleague. I had a pleasant experience with her. Found her to be a no-frills doctor who was to the point and didnt waste time with niceties. In the beginning I also felt that she did not give extra information but later I realized it was a good thing as it seemed like she only spent a long time with an expectant mother when there was a complication. But she always answered any queries my husband and I had. I was satisfied with her upto and even after delivery. I had a normal delivery and I have heard she does not encourage C-sections unless absolutely medically necessary. Others might have different experiences with her but as I said mine was just fine.
