Hey Nisha,
I just underwent a c-section last week.I know in India as many people are there those many suggestions you will be getting and at times it is really difficult to know what one should do.

This is what my doc and my mother who is with me here in USA has told me.Hopefully this helps you.Firt of all since we have been thru a major surgery as much as it is true that we should get plenty of rest it is also important that you be a little mobile around the house.Just sleeping or resting all the time will make your body more lethargic and your recovery will be slow.I do not mean that you start all household jobs and be a suprewoman, but just do a little bit and as and when you get tired rest.
I cannot give you any suggestions about tonics etc as I am taking nothing and my doc says unless you have pains from the surgery only then take pain medication or else no.
These are my suggestions not that they may relate to you fully but since i have gone thru c-section myself I just wanted to share those with you.
Take care,
Tanswap.

Dear Nisha,
Our Indian system totally works against C-section or any surgery rules and this is what makes it more hard for patient to recover faster.

The more you relax and rest and take it easy the more difficult to recover from. I know girls complaining even 9 months post C-section at the same time I also know girls working in 2 weeks after C-section.

C-section is like anyother surgery and no need to take this seriously. I been through C-section although I hated the decision of C-section. I am active and do everything. I walked for about 1 mile just 8-9 days post C-section. Remember as long as your body has no discomfort you can be active.

What's important is for first two months you should not lift anything heavier than your baby.

After 5-6 months of C-Section start exercising and you will be fine.

why I said then partly if I am saying opposite to what your family says. Because the hot food, herbal mixture and hot water bath is necessary for your waist to recover and pelvic muscles to get stronger. This is the only part I am in favor of your family suggestions.

Remember not to hurt family member as they are doing this for you and they have the best interest of you in their heart!

Archie
