Hi Shefali,

Is this test painfull, I wish I do not have to go for it but not sure yet. Here in Canada first doctors do a blood test called as MSH, in this test in 535 cases there is one positive case.
If my test is positive then only I have to go for Aminocentesis.
Is this test painful, let me know. I have read about it, I am scared. I pray I do not want to go for it.
Please share your experience.

Love
Megha

Hi Megha,

No, the test wasnt painful for me at all. I was very scared abt it but the pain was same as what u feel when you have a blood test (although the whole atmosphere is a little scary since they do it in an Ops Theatre) - but nothing to worry abt. I live in Bombay and the doctor who did it was supposed to be very good and made me feel very comfortable. I hope u dont have to go for it but if u do have to do it, dont get scared, its not painful and its the greatest relief to know that ur baby is OK as this test is 100% accurate.

Take care,
Love,
Shefali

hi there shefali.hopw you got your amino test results by now and hope they are all fine.tell you what i wanted to take this test too but my doc discouraged me saying only about 2% accuracy is there and many a times even when the child is perfectly normal the test may say otherwise so i decided not to take, the more you get into these tests and all the more worried you will be so just take it as it comes.you must be 14 weeks preg now,so just relax and have fun all will be fine.wishing you the best.luv deepika.

Hi Deepika,
Thanx for replying. Yes, I got my Amnio results yesterday,
everything is OK. Amnio is 99% accurate. The test your doctor
told you abt must be AFP or Triple-marker test which is a simple
blood test and not too accurate. Anyway I got the amnio done
because im already 34 and its my first pregnancy.
Im almost 19 weeks now. How many weeks are u ??
Wish you all the best too. Love - Shefali.
