Adoption:Biased Indian adoption agencies

In India single father adoption cases can be counted on the tips. It' s not that the single males here donn wanna adopt children rather it' s the prejudice of the adoption agencies and the bias carried by the authorities frame the adoption guidelines. Some adoption agencies are so ignorant about the CARA guidelines that they donn know the meaning of a single parent. I have come across two three such agencies where the legal advisors of such agencies said that there is provision in law to give a child in adoption to a single female but the same isn' t applicable to a single male. What a rediculous remark it is.

Our Indian mind set has misconception that female is the endless reservoir of the emotions and felings and in this way they portray males as demons but such people donn know the cases of abondoning of children by females for the sake of second marrage, extra marital relations and coz of so many other reasons.

Indian adoption agencies giving a child in adoption to a single working mother turn blind eye about the issues they stress upon while giving a child in adoption to a single male. Isn' t it a step widening the gender gap?

Hi,

I know its difficult for single parents to adopt a kid. but as far my experience is concern, First of all its not at all easy to adopt child, wheather ur single parent or couple. I agree adoption agencies r biased. but why they r like dis, pls think, first of all kids r available with agencies r abandonded or surrendered, so agencies first prefrence is to place the child with married couples and families for thier better future, there r many childless couples waiting for childrens, where in 99% agencies got huge wait list for kids. adoptive parents r waiting from 1-3 yrs average time. its not easy task being a single parents, so agency people r not sure how single parents will take such huge responsibility. being financially strong is not only criteria for child adoption. they also deserve to get love from father & mother both, why they will give child a half family while placing with single parents.nowdays agencies another concern is sexual expolitation of children. there r many cases happend where in child was adopted by single parents and Sexually exploit, These things doesnt come in picture or news or become headline. So agency r extra coutious abt it.

If a single parent can´ t meet child´ s emotional needs, legally or self-seperated parents shuzn´ t keep their children with them and where in ne holy scripture of ne existing religion it´ s written that single parent is devoid of motherly or fatherly feelings? As far as ur apprehension of a child being sexually exploited is concerned u can find so many cases, of them many go unnoticed and some are often carried by newspapers, among the biological members of families. Then why to single out single fathers?

Where in Indian constituion it is written that child less couples alone can quench parenthood feelings?

This is a sheer myth and bias of Indian mindset nothing else. This means tacitly our system forces a person to go for marriage though he doesn´ t wanna do so.
