This is the story of the birth of my second baby, a girl named Pritja ( meaning Born out of love: Preet-love; ja-born of pronounced as prija) on Oct 18th @ 10:03am. I was having irregular contractions since Saturday, Oct 15th. My due date was Oct 9th, I loved being pregnant but was feeling a bit tired of it by now and I went to see my doc on Oct 13th when she decided that If I don't go into labor on my own by Monday she would induce me. So although contractions were there but they were not quite intense. Well, I received a call from the hospital early in the morning and me and my husband went to the hospital around 7:00 am. My Doc applied a gel and sent me back to home for 6 hrs, but all this time I was experiencing a repetitious tightening in my belly.

I was with my son for all this time. I was feeling a twinge of regret as he had been my baby for over 4 years now. In less than a day he would be a big brother. Athough he would always be my little boy, my special eldest child, and the baby who made me a mother. Until now he had been the center of my life, I worried about how she would adjust to having a sibling. Though I knew he wanted desperately to be a big brother.

After six hours we went to the hospital again and since I didn't needed another gel they asked me to come back at 11:00pm for induction. They started the Iv @ around 11:00pm, my contractions had been getting stronger and closer together. They were to the point that I needed to rest in between. I labored on a rocking chair with my husband at my side. I had thought I would want to walk during my contractions but because of IV I couldn't. I was doing the breathing excersises I learned at the childbirth class. I concentrated on relaxing, remaining calm and just trusting in myself. It was 5:00am and I was only 4cms dilated. I wasn't progressing much so the doc decided to break my water bag. The nurse predicted a 7:00am delivery. But at 7:30am I was only 8cms dilated. I was totally exhausted, the pain was getting really intense and I didn't know how long do I need to wait, so I took epidural after laboring for 8hours unmed. After that I slept for an hour or so and started pushing around 9:40am. At 10:03am I delivered a beautiful baby girl! My girl was big and my doc said that she might need to use the forceps but thank God this trick worked and I pushed even harder and my girl entered into this world. She cried after a few seconds and me and my husband were all in tears! vara replied. A very interesting birth story. Great job ! Congratulations ! hope ur son is happy with his sibling.
