We are currently based in the US. And like many others here, we are also thinking about doing an IVF cycle in India. I was wondering how soon could we travel back to the US after the IVF cycle? I was kind of told by friends that we might need to wait for 3-4 months before we could travel back. Kay replied. Also, please see my post regarding egg donor. We are looking for a caucasian egg donor who is planning to go to India for IVF who might be willing to share her eggs and we would be willing to share some of the IVF costs. Thank you. It is my understanding that you can begin the treatments here in the US with your ob/gyn and go to India for the egg harvesting and IVF which would substantially shorten your stay in India (maybe to 10 days) - you'd have to check with the clinic in India doing the IVF procedure to be certain. annie replied. mr.anand, i don't want to sound negative, but i suppose that you are asuming that you will succeed in 1st cycle of ivf.( i honestly wish that it will be the case with you). but unfortunately it may not be the case. so better is to wait for the confirmation of pregnancy before travelling back to your place. if its not a success, doctors may advise for another cycle of ivf. you can give your semen for freezing & your wife can stay back(assuming that she is not working) & go ahead with the treatment. good luck to you & your wife.
annie reena replied. You need to stay in India for 5-6 weeks for one cycle of IVF treatment. You can travel one week after IVF.
