when does he cry,,describe a situation ! all babies or toddler cries,,it dpnds on situations on why they cry !
about controlng him,,welcome to toddler life...be the part of his play and mischief and divert him to what you want him to do !! if he is upto doing mess,,do a lil mess with him,, and thn divrt him to cleaning the mess,,start teaching your child from 9months onwards words that means controlling,,like stop, give, take, thankyou, yes and no,,don't and such, repeat as often aas required...and whenever absolutly necessry use it...avoid usng them oftn,,use it only when precautions are necessry or he seems to be hurtng himself.
about reading books,,its mattr of interst and the way you do it,,and many a times,,its an unsccfful try,,but keep doing it ! even though he is not listng to you,,a natural theory that one cant close his ears works there ! keep readng and make it interstng with high and low pitch, exclaimatn like \" ooooo who is that,,,wow,,look at that,,,and thn the pitch goes low you start reading and your exprressns are very njoyng,,,all this will make him run around and come back to you,,because9months onwards,,cruising toddler is just the right candidate of\" wat is mom doing so interestng\" ...and you have him sitting or listn to you even though not sittng but jumping around like monkey,,if your baby was like mine,,,but she will listen to wat you will say,,,its a diff issue some kids dont like to sit and do the things,,,and it will take time for them to learn it that way.
about teaching colours and so,,yes,,its just the right time, never so late,,get the books with bold colours, bold pictures with sharp outline and has one picture per page,,like a picture of a written next to apple(picture),,or just a or just apple,,etc,,and make it a point to sit everyday at same time...if your child is restless like mine,,make it netime activity,,but dont miss it !
repeat the same words agains and again, and everyday,,avoid addng ne other conversations of yourrs..
if you think a realistic figure will help,,you can also bring the actual apple, next to book and thn teach him the relative logic,,a apple,,this is apple,,and you point your fingrs to apple picture and real apple !
dont force him to understand,,he will not, until he is 18months or so,,but make sure to make it a habit to speak the actual words whenever you get a chance,,take him to grocery, malls and at every place,,follow that particular word that you started in one week and see how he learns...determine his calibre accrdngly and practice new words accrdly..hope this gives you idea of how to teach and wat...once your baby crosses say 14months,,start him on 2-3letter words startng with first letter that he learnd to speak first..like my dd spoke ba,,and so her first words were ba ba, ball, ballon, banana ! thn she learnd da,,so her second line worrds were dada, dadi, daddy,,and likewise...and so on..
dont expect them to continue further,,its learning words,,they might speak out,,in excitment but they oftn are unaware of it,,they will only speak those words with sense,,if they are doing it everyday,,like my baby was banana girl,,she would not miss eating it,,even if she would skip eatng meals !! so she learnd that word fastr thn the other words,,,as it was her need,,so make sure to give your child more and more opportunity to express and no matter wat he speaks,,make sure to speak the correct word(one-2 word until 18months),,,
so thats all in developmnt part..

about the schedule,,its good,,liked it..the time gap and everything is nicely placed,,,make sure to involve in her playtime and involve her in your daily chores,,give her chance to explore the daily things that you use in your life and she will learn them all,,eventually !
good luck to you n a very happy new year.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
