Milestones:Waking up screaming

Name: Lalitha

My 6 mo. old baby screams and cries when waking up as if he got up from a bad dream. This has been happening from last one month and now it is all the time when he wakes up. It used to be sometimes only earlier. We thought its the swing or the way we make him go to sleep on our lap but now no matter how he sleeps or where he sleeps it is that way. Only in the night when he sleeps he wakes up for food and does not scream like he does during the day. He is all fine when he wakes up first in the morning But all the naps later he does like that. What could be the reason behind this? Is this psychological or does it show any trait of the baby? please let me know what we can do to help this.

I too had the same problem with my 7m old baby.

But i did find out 1 reason for the baby doing so. It was GAS!

My baby wd wake up crying/screaming. Once, I happened to be besides her and awake when she just started crying in sleep, and then she passed out lot of gas .. and kept crying slowly as the gas passed out. She was in such deep sleep that she did not wake up. When the gas stopped, she stopped crying and slept.

Like gas, there cd be other reasons like you said - dreams. But Check out if ur baby has gas problem.

Let us know if u figure out something, will help us all

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
