It is nice to know there is someone in Bangalore too !
I live in BTM layout, close to the IIM, Bangalore. I go to a gynaec called Chitra Ram Murthy who consults at Sagar Apollo Hospital close to Dairy Circle. I will be going to this hospital itself since it is one of the newest and well-equipped in Bangalore. I am very comfortable with this doctor, though she is not very well know in Bangalore since she always has the time to spare and I can call her at any time and ask her any question! She is always helpful and really sweet.
If you are living near Airport Road, Manipal Hospital should be the best hospital to deliver in as it is close and well-equipped. St. John's Hospital which is in Koramangala is also good. Under normal circumstances, even Sagar Apollo would be ideal for you but with the new traffic restrictions due to flyover building, it would take you anywhere between 30 min to 1 hr to reach depending on traffic.
Who is your doctor? What kind of hospital would you like to go to? I can ask my gynaec and recommend some good doctors at Manipal or St. John's. There are supposed to be pre-natal classes held at BTM layout near my place. I am yet to find out details about it. I will be attending those classes in about 2 weeks time since I will be travelling next week. I'll find out details about the classes and let you know before that. Maybe we can meet sometime:)
Do let me know and I can help you in Bangalore since I've lived here all my life !!
Take care,
Sonali

Right now I am going to Dr. Nalini bapat at her residence, in indira nagar. She is working in chinamaya mission hospital. Actually I have been to manipal hospital, but the gync there
are very senior, busy and most of the time there assistants do all the routine check ups. Also its very crowded, long waiting hours. Actually next month we are moving to koramangala, so I think st john's should be fine. Do you know if there is any good gync at st john's hospital.
More over my platelet count is dropping every month, so my doctor suggested, to go to either mallya or manipal for delivery since they have blood bank. But I heard that in manipal, they do ceasarian for most of the cases, so I am bit apprehensive. Let me know your feedback and about some good gync in manipal and st john's, so that I can go there for my next checkup.
Just let me know the details of pre-natal classes near airport road, koramangala, I would like to join them.
Are you working somewhere? I am working in wipro, MG road. It a great idea to meet, we will plan it on some weekend.
How is your health??

Hi Madhavi,
If you're moving to Koramangala, St John's is good so is Sagar Apollo which becomes a 10-15 min drive away for you. If you would like to come there, I would recommend my doctor Chitra Ram Murthy since I am very comfortable with her. I had bleeding early on in my pregnancy and was really worked up, but she really calmed me down. It is a new hospital and they take care of you very well. The doctor herself does all the checkups and the staff is relatively more customer - oriented. She consults there on weekdays between 6-8 pm and you can just walk-in between those times any day of the week and she will be there. Please check out the website www(dot)sagarapollo(dot)com for more info on the hospital and doctors' schedules.
I am meeting my doc on the 21st (next Mon) and will ask her about good gynaecs in Manipal and St. John's. Will also find out about the pre-natal classes then.
I'm not working right now, I finished a full-time MBA course in May and decided to take a break before I started working again :)
It would be a great idea to meet on a weekend. Am travelling to Singapore next week and will be back on Saturday 26th, so after that would be a great time.
In any case, will ask my friends about the gynaecs and classes and if they know, will let you know asap.
Am feeling fine right now, normal except for the stomach and the kicking. The middle trimester has been great. I felt awful in the first since I was tired all the time.
How are you feeling and why is your blood platelet count dropping? What does the doc say about that? You must be tired by the time you come home after all that work?
Take care and do mail me at sonalisatish(at)sify(dot)com. I access it everyday from home.
Regards,
Sonali
