Does everyone suffer from motion sickness? I have two children. While the elder one gets sick when we travel, the younger one is perfectly fine. How is this possible? Am I doing something different?

good article. i have been suffering from motion sickness since childhood. i am now 33 and still suffer sometimes, esp. if the road is v. winding. but i have experienced that when my stomach is averagely full, i dont get nausea/vomiting. i suggest for all those to eat a bland meal/snack 1 hour before the journey and pass motion so that the stomach is completely set. dont let it be completely empty or full. also, many a times if we are stressed out or under tension esp. due to marital conflicts as this is a matter of the heart, no matter what u will expereince motion sickness. ot os mpore psychological. u can also take ' aomin' 1/2 tablet 1/2 an hour befopre embarking on the journey, but this tablet makes u tremendously drowsy for almost 24 hours, so not advisable for kids. the idea is to keep the kids busy in singing/other fun activities esp. on the winding road.

Subject:  Are pills necessary?

Hi. I am taking my family for a long tour by road. This is the first time my daughter will be going out. I do not know if she will get motion sickness. Should we give her pills just in case? Or should we wait and see if she gets sick?

Hello. You have not mentioned how old your daughter is and if she has any other health problems. Why not ask your family doctor if pills are necessary? He will know best what pills to describe. Please do not self medicate your child.

For children, motion sickness is usually cured as they grow up. However, you can get a variety of medication from your chemist. Many over the counter pills are available for motion sickness. You need not suffer.
