Crying & Colic:Does gripe water help?

Name: Sree hello,
My baby is 5 months old.He passes stools only once in three to four days.I have just introduced him to light homemade solidsand before that it was only breast milk.He had the problem then also.He doesnt seem to mind it much .Itried the soaked raisins formula but it bore no fruits.Iam giving him gripe water now.Is it worth trying
Please give some suggestions.

Yes gripe water helps. The fatc that your baby is passing stool once in 3-4 days is not a problem. You mention you soley breastfed him. Breastfed babies can pass stool once in 7-10 days also. The same thins happened with my 2 month old daughter who was breastfed. That is because breast milk is very light and gets absorbed. I would recommend giving quarter teaspoon gripe water for your 5 month old.

passing stools

hi manju,
i'm a mother of 1 1/2 month old boy. i'm fairly new to this field. and my son passes stools atleast three times a day. and my mother says that's pretty good. coz babies digestive system isn't that strong to hold in that much food. so i think it's not good for a baby not to pass stools for 7-8 days.
