HI

B4 HE USE TO SLEEP ON MY TUMMY AS IT BECAME A HABIT I STOPPED HIM AND STARTED TO ROCK HIM ON MY HANDS OR LEGS PLACING HIM ON A PILLOW.
BUT NOW HE DONT WANT TO SLEEP IN PILLOW. IT IS BECOMING WORSE AND EVEN I AM GETTING PAINS IN MY HANDS AND LEGS,
EVEN THOUGH I MAKE HIM SLEEP HE JUST SLEEPS FOR HALF AN HR 15 MIN AFTER THE FEED DURING DAY TIME,
HE SLEEPS IN NIGHTS BUT FOR EVERY 2 HRS HE WAKES UP FOR THE FEED CRYING IN HIGH PITCH( I THINK IN FEW DAYS I RECIVE COMPLAINTS FROM MY NEIGHBOURS)
.AGAIN I HAVE TO ROCK HIM AFTER HIS FEED .SOMETIMES HE FALLS ASLEEP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FEED .AND AS HE HAD LESS MILK AGAIN NEXT TIME WHEN HE GETS UP NEXT TIME ITS THE SAME OLD STORY...ROCKING ,CRYING....IF THIS CONT,,, I HAVE TO START CRYING ALONG WITH HIM
PLEASE HELP ME WHAT CAN I DO .

if you are starting solids dont start in evenings. start her in mornings or in afternoon times. once you think she is ok wid it, you can give her 2 times once in morning and then in evening. my baby was an owl. i started her solids in evening to make her sleep and she had gas. i had to give her mylicon every evening to make her sleep.sometimes she would cry at night even after giving mylicon.
Hetal asked me to change her diet and feed her solids 3hours before her sleep and give her good playtime after her dinner. she slept well since then.
hope this helps you.

i think in the night also you should feed him with solids and he is already 6 month old and it is high time. also it is ok if you donot feed him every 3 hours in the night. my daughter is 4 months old. i give her dinner around 7 and she sleeps at 8 and in the night she waskes up around 2-3 a.m and i give her milk and seh wakes up next for morning breakfast. as he is a poor sleeper you dont have to wake him up for feeding. children always take the correct intake they need. so when he shows a slight disturbance in his sleep, you know from your observation whether it is for milk and then you get ready.

my daughter was also like this, she will sleep wonderful in the day and she will wake up at 1 in the night and she will sleep back at 5.30 in the morning. i used to cry sometimes, but slowly i brought her to this routine. donot make your son sleep for a long time in the day, instead you can engage him. don't feel desperate, children are the worst dictators int he world. taking care of children is a very demanding job but it is alsoa very satisfying job. whenver you feel down take a break, give the baby to somebody and do something for yourself, like a wonderful new style haircut. all the best.

Rajani,
I used to make my baby sleep on my legs with pillows, whn he was 6-7 mnths. Then i started to get pain on my heel bone n i had to stop that practice, also he used to jump down frm the pillow. So try to change that habbit and try to make him sleep on th ebed itself, by gently patting on his back or legs, slowly baby will start to learn to sleep like that, also make sure he gets a good feed during the day and also before night sleep.

Good Luck
Indu

Hi Rajani,
My son who is also 6 months used to do that for a few monhts.

My suggestions- Fedd him well before he goes to sleep. I believe u have started him on solids- so give him a good feed of ceeal with fruits at around 8pm. Then before he goes to sleep feed him bm/formula. Also, warm clothing is very important during night. Need not swaddle him as he is alrwady 6 months old, but put full sleepers and also sweater.
Bedding should be soft and warm too, so the baby is comfortable to sleep for long..

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
