Name: Kay My husband and I are seeking an egg donor (Caucasian/European) and surrogate. We intend to travel to India for IVF/transfer and would like to begin the process in January 2007. I realize that the majority of egg donation is through natives of India so we are looking for someone who might be willing to travel to India with us as an egg donor and transfer the embryo to a native Indian surrogate woman. We appreciate any advice or help from the women corresponding on this website. Thank you.

Hi Kay,

Have you been able to find a Caucasian/European donor? My husband and I are in the same boat. I am white, and he is Indian, so we would like to find an European egg donor who would be willing to travel to India. We are also interested in sharing a donor with you to reduce expenses.

we're contemplating smthg similar and wondered if you had any knowledge regarding the name of the mother on the birth certificate (is it your name or the surrogate's name?). can the baby return on a US passport?

Are you possibly an egg donor? As I said, my husband and I are looking for a caucasian egg donor (shared eggs possibly). We would be willing to share some of the IVF expense for a couple who would be willing to share their eggs. Is that you? Thanks. Kay

US VISA

It is my understanding that the surrogate has no legal rights to the child. Nor does the anonymous egg donor. I also understand that there is a way to adopt the embryo. I am still in the process of clarifying this but I have been in touch with the US Embassy in Mumbai who assured me that if the US citizen is the parent(s) then a VISA is immediately issued for return to US and the child is automatically a US citizen.
