Thanks for all your wishes .... Mahathi is doing fine ..keeping me and my mom awake for most of the night ...

but she has beena ble to latch on and is breastfeeding properly .. one tip on that area specially for first time moms .... on 2/3 day , we would not have full milk supply , only colustrum ..but to make sure that the baby latches and also colustrum is good for teh baby , docs advice us to start nursing 1 hour after birth ... in my case, i started nursing and she latched on first day itself ... but 2/3 day was specially painful because there was no milk and she was hungry and i had to keep feeding her .... there is one good cream - Lansinoh which can be applied for cracked nipples .... it does nto ahrm the baby ..so do use it from the first signs of niiple soreness ... i did not do thta ..and have ended up with bruises which are now healing but were very painful for the 2-5 day ....

ok ..now to my birthing story :) .. last wednesday ,as i had posted ..i got brown discharge ..i spoke wiht my nurse and she said it is signs of early early labor ... so i did not think i am going to have her so soon ..but my mom did :) ... anyway at 9:00 in night ..i started having contractions whihc were mild to begin with .. the pain started from my back and came to my abdomen ..i was not even sure these were contractions ...silly me :) .... but it went on and were around 6 /hour lasting 30 -50 seconds till 1:30 .. after that they became more frequent and at 3:00 ... the intensity increased .... so we started off to the hospital and was admited .. put on monitors at 4:30 .. i was dilated 2-3 cms ... i was goven the choice of epidural but i wanted to wait and see what happens .. by about 7:30 ..i was dilated 8 cms thankfully ...so i decided nto to go with any medications and started pushing at around 8:00 ... my darling was out at 8:29 .... i did have few tears and episotomy done :( .... but overall i think it was very smooth by god's grace ....

great to know that you and the little one are doing fine and you had a smooth labor!! Congratulations!!
I just have a question. Do we get colostrum immediately after the delivery? may be second time moms can also clarify this to me.

Did you had nipple soreness even before delivery....or is it only while Mahathi is trying to latch..that you started getting the soreness slowly?

Everytime i read some birthing story or watch in the T.V tha baby story i just can't wait to hold mine.I am so very excited to see who this one is ? who is kicking my ribs bad and hurting me ?.Does the baby look like me or my husband ? etc etc.Oh ya how is mahathi is looks like you or husband they change so much though but your mom will be able to tell you .

Nice to know that u had a quick labor and Mahathi is latching well. I am sure she will keep u busy but do drop in here.

All is well on my side my EDD is Dec 16th so counting days... a month to go.
