Due Date Club December 2006:Epidural ????

Can anyone suggest whether one shud go for epidural or not?
I want to wait till the level I can tolerate, but want to take epidural if the pains becomes unbearable..So my question is , till which level of dilation there wud be chances for Epidural to be taken?
Plz... suggest..

hi i had epidural with my first son i was in labour for 24 hours and optd to have epidural 3 hours b4 i had my son i think u shud try acking the pain b4 u go for it cos it adds a couple of hours on to labour and its alot harder to push im 38 wks gne and wnt be having it again i must say tho i wasnt in any pain after my second dose x

My firt delivery was a long one.i was in labour for more than 6 hrs but there was only 2cm dialation so my gyno suggested epidural.there was no pain and i was relaxed so i dialated fast.some women they ask for epidural,i my case my doc told me to take.
