Name: Confused and Worried Mom



Hello there,
I am also a new mom with a 6 month old baby!. With the pregnancy I gained over 30 lbs out of which I lost 10 lbs only. I still have at least 15 which I would like to take away.
But I have a doubt about starting any exercising. Will exercising affect the breastfeeding?! I mean will it lower the milk production?! I just wanted to get some ideas/thoughts on this.

Also, a question to all new mommies like me.
Do you all have a big tummy still? I do : - (
With which I look like a 2-3 month pregnant lady.
Please do let me know what kind of exersing you all did to get over the big tummy problem. Please do share.

Exercising shouldn't impact breastfeeding as far as you are having a healthy and a balanced diet. Breastfeeding alone might help you shed all the extra pounds you gained during your pregnancy. Exercising helps you tone up and strengthen your muscles. Doing abdominal excercises would help you get rid of the big tummy that you are talking of. Talk to your fitness instructor to show you some good exercises. Watch for your diet as well. You only need an extra 300 calories if you are breastfeeding.

I did walking, aerobics and even stepping while I continued breastfeeding. Hope this helps.

According to my gyno, I have some special hormones due to which i can easily lactate and due to that my motherly instincts are extremely high. I was lactating until 1 yr back & I still can induce if i want to breastfeed anyone.
