your child needs alot of push from you so continue supporting him...let him show that he can do it..,,,it will take time,,but he is not having ne other probs thats for sure.

dont expect your child to accept sippy or ne other source of drinking milk,,in a day or so...check the links that i gave you,,i know its alot of digging into it and reading it,,but it has it all.
also, try cup or glass at the same time,,drink before him, holding him and see his interst levels,,offer warm milk in that,or his fav drink in that,,play with temperatures and see if that makes him accept it..,make him drink slowly by your hands..it will take time...no worries,,keep trying..you cant force a child to master his sucking skills until he himself is ready for it !!! all you have to keep doing is try, and try...
i also wrote some tips on what to do with your toddler,to mommy post dated 23rd dec,,read my reply,,it has tons of things to do and teach your new toddler.

about crying and not lettng you go newhere, its perfectly fine ! kids do that.. this is just the right age....teach your child games of peekaboo and hide and seek,,its game time ! and let him understand that you dont disappear newhere,,you are right there,,just that he cant see it..

also, the other thing is ,,your child has not started walking without ne support yet,,,,so he is not able to chase you and due to this,,this gives him feeling of insecurity...once he starts cruisng indepndtly,,watch,,he will be your tail :) and you will love it ! then he will follow you everywhere,,allow him to do so..he just wants to know where all you go...once he gets used to it,,like your visits to bathroom, showers etc,,he will stop following you because he knows that you are right there !!!
until then,,you wil have to deal with this,,its pretty normal !

about blocks,,they are for kids above 1 year,,so your child is just about to turn 1 year,,so dont expect him to accept them right away,,,keep playing with him,,or just leave the bag open,,,and see what he does,,,once he goes to the bag or box of blocks,,see what he does,,and thn take the other block and just give a sign that you are doing something,,dont call him or run after him,,,and without takng the block that he has in hand,,start playing with your block,,see what he does,,he will be amazed ! it will take around 13-14months for your child to get interested in these,,at the same time,,if your child is restless and hyper or does like being patient,,,,he will not like ne games that are to be played with patience, or while sitting,,,..so giving them finger paints, nontoxic crayons or aquadoodle drawing activities or playing with ball, chasing some toy and such will work best for them !
which blocks you own ???? try the mega blocks thats 1year and above(US),,these are just right for small new toddlers and they are vibrant in colours, attractive shapes, distinctive shapes,,and so many pieces,,..others are available on onestepahead dot com,,they are soft ones and dont have hard corners,,i came to know late about it or else i would have bought those...
about schedule,,tell me whats her your child schedule and i can tell you how its going,,,
about ref if you are asking or ne ideas,,i dont have the link,,but here is the matter,,i just wrote it in some other site :
at 1 year,,a healthy child needs an approx,,,40 calories per day per inch of height thats somewhere in range of 1000 to 1300 calories/day is mostly needed for a healthy toddler from 1-2 year.
it depends alot on his own apetite and his own capacity to convert the food he eats,,,in actual calories.
mostly an average healthy baby at 1year is expected to eat 1/4th of one adult serving of all foods.which means if you are taking 1 roti at a time, your baby is expected to eat 1/4th of it on an average.same goes with curries, dal or rice,,or whatever your regular diet is.
its also expected tht baby has aleast 2 healthy snacks(late afternoon and after dinner dessert), and 3 mini meals(breakfast, lunch, dinner) in one day..
all this depends on baby apetite and the type of food he eats !!!!!!
most 1 year kids are expected to eat family foods and finger foods...

so hope this suffces and let me know your child schdule and we will work out the balance if its required !!

as far as your child is not getting bored with you,,you are doing a good job !

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
