Sleeping:Pls help me

My baby is 11 months old.He is very restless and reluctant to sleep in night. If we make him sleep on bed he will hardly sleep for 10-15 min. After that will behave like he wants to sleep badly but he is not able to..He will try to get up with his eyes closed.Again will lift his head and scrolls. But when we swing him to sleep, he will sleep for 2-3 hrs.Earlier he was having severe atopic dermatitis(skin allergy) but that is reduced much now.
We are real upset.Have consulted many paediatricians but no use.Any one have faced such a situation?

hi ! my son devloped your child kind of eczema and now it's better ! we still have to wait and watch. anyhow, how is your son's skin condition. look, it's really unconfortable for the child as the skin is really itchy. my son keeps moving his hands like he wants to itch even though now his skin is a lot lot better. so it's his habbit that is making him do so. so be patient. they r so small and this skin condition is really troublesome. about sleep - put him down after a warm bath or so with full tummy and dark enviornment with no activity or noise around. and another thing make him tired ! we all sleep better when our body is ready to be put down. all the best !

havent faced the situation personally,,, but some tips that might help !

trying to get up with eyes clothes,,lifting the head and scrolling,,feeling better and sleeping better in swings,,are all the signs that baby is not feeling well in stomach..
could be gas, could be sign of mild constipation, or could be a sign of throwing up/overfeeding or result of sleeping just after a full feed of formula or milk...
atopic dermatitis, starts from infancy mostly..and its specific causes are not known,,but is commonly result of genetic and environmental factors..
and because of his condition, i see one more possibility,,is the side effect of the medicine taken during the treatment of this disease,,is making your child uncomfortable...it could be ne of the side effects like nausea, vomitting, and ne kind of tingling...
however, it dpends on the time for the patient was given such medication and on time side effect if at all was seen during that time..
other things you can do to soothe your child for a good night sleep is a good lukewarm bath before sleep,,keep your child cool and avoid ne situations of overheating,,opt of cotton fabrics esp during sleeping and resting hours,,,or when body is relaxed...avoid using ne harsh detergents, perfumes, or ne kind of room freshners around your child.,,keep your baby relaxed emotionally,,check on your baby whole days diet,,sometimes babies dont sleep because they arent getting enough food,formula/milk/bm, or ne other liquids/juices during the whole day,,,
overtired babies dont sleep well so after ensuring a good activity level whenever you find your baby getting overstressed,,calm him, soothe him and make him settled...
some other good tips on giving a good night sleep is just below your post,,
so take care, good luck

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
