Hi all
I am 30 yr old woman married for 5 yrs and live in U.S. My husband and I have been trying for our first baby from past 1.5 yrs. I got pregnant thrice but all three pregnancies soon ended in a miscarriage (Jan, July & Nov). 1st time pregnancy ended at 5.5 weeks. 2nd time- at 6.5 weeks and 3rd time- again at about 5 weeks. The first two times I had d&c while the third miscarriage just started y' day (11/03) when I started pouring naturally and I am still bleeding heavy. This third time my urine test strip never showed positive while blood hcg test showed positive but was not doubling.
As many of you can understand how it feels going through this. It really is a horrible vicious circle. I am really broke. It feels so terrible, lonely and depressed. Living in US adds to it. Anyway, having found this forum I feel I am not alone in this. And honestly it feels so much comfort to be able to share feelings with indian women who I can relate to and who can understand this.
Doctors here in US are so vile and insensitive. They have nothing to say that can help me. I had to push them hard after 2nd miscarriage to get blood tests done for any potential problems. All tests came normal. But I have no clues why these miscarriages happened. This third time as soon as I found out I am pregnant, I even quit my job to avoid stress and stay home for the sake of pregnancy but I guess this pregnancy was supposed to end too. In my case, I am lucky enough to get pregnant soon but I guess not fortunate enough to have body to hold onto a pregnancy.
I have no idea what I am going to do now. My husband says we should give a break for few months before we start trying again but I am not sure if I can wait that long coz there’s nothing else on my mind now and with the fact that time is flying, I am getting old and with this history of recurrent miscarriages now its makes future uncertain, so I can’t live peacefully.
Anyway, I want to know what tests do doctors in India do to test for potential problems behind recurrent miscarriages? What are the problems that are usually diagnosed and treatments that they suggest for that. I want to make sure my doctor here do all the tests.
This first trimester challenge is so hard to get through. I still wonder is there something I eat that I shouldn' t in first trimester. Is there anything that I do that I shouldn' t. I took all precautions each time like avoid lifting anything heavy, no sex , caffeine etc in first trimester. I just know of basic standard precautions. So, if anyone can provide me the list of things or food to avoid when pregnant or precautions to take during pregnancy specially first trimester. I just want to make sure I am not missing out anything.
Looking forward to hear from you- any tips, advise and your experiences.
Thanks
