Hi....

I am really concerned....
I am 16 weeks pregnant & recently got my USG done... The general report says that the Placenta is anterior... I have heard that is not common & could cause probems... I am also obese...

This is my first baby & i am very scared...
Plz help if anyone has any info on this.

Dear Deepika,
Nothing seems to get concerned about.
Each fetus is different so don't worry much on movements. You will experience more about that in third trimester or at the end of second trimester.
Triplemarker it's negative is great thing.
Enjoy.

Subject:  anterior placenta/placenta previa

Dear Deepika,

Do not get worried so much. Usually placenta is lying on the top of posterior side, which is near mother's spine.
The anterior placenta means it's on mothers tummy muscle.
There is some time for placenta to move upward, if this is totally low lying one.
If it's already upward and cover front side then undoutedly you need to get prepared for C-section, that is inevitable.

I would suggest to refrain from worries as it would not cause trouble to baby, only the option of vaginal birth is not possible. Let me know what happens in future USG, particularly around 34-36 weeks.

Good luck
Archie
