Hi All,

I heard from some of my friends that Indian women who deliver in the USA mostly face this Breast feeding problem..

either its latching or not getting enuf milk?? something or other..

one of my friend delivered in sep end and she has given up BF.. now she is a full time formula feeding mom....

do you all agree with this or have any other comment..

Breast Feeding is nothing to do with where a girl comes from.
I have chinese friends, American Friends, Indian Friends and they have successfully breast fed their babies for year or longer. It has to do with how the mother learns to latch on the baby and if she can. Also Indians think that it is very natural to breast feed and it cmes automatically, it does not one needs help in understanding how breast feeding works. Please donot compare yourself with others and how they are feeding their child...everyone is different and are in diff suituations.
I can give advice oin this topic as i am one of the mothers who had to give formula only and stop bm not because i wanted too but because i had no choice but too because of my sons allergy to cows milk
You should be happy that you have given bm to your child there are some mothers who could never get there child to latch on or may have not had milk come in and never had the choice.
It does not matter whether bm or formula as long as your child is healthy.. you have to think of what is best for you and your child forget about what others do.
Dio you want to be unhappy as your child can sense this.
Do what you heart tells you what is right for your child.
My son is on formula only he is 3 months old and is developing normally and is healthy and happy this is all that matters...i donot take in too much what the elder indian women say as our situations are different and if they were in the same position and had the options you have now then they would do what is best :)
