No this is not a mendatory test...only if you want to go for it.

would be done aroungd 13th week as archie indicated this is compulsary test now. you shioyuld ask your gyn abiout this. this is and ultrasound where the fold at the back of fetus neck is measured for potential diorders like down syndrome more accurate then afp test
