My two month daughter has large amounts of dandruff (powdery white thick scale on the scalp)in her hair.Similar kind of scale/white powdery subsance is on eyebrow region..ALso from birth he has 2-3 pimples in her face in the cheek
area..
I have showed ger to a pediatrician as well as a skin specialist.and both asked me to stop oiling her hair and use cream called 'ELOCON' on her scalp and face after shampooing.
On searching on net,i found elocon is a steroid ..
n really worried if it is allright to use such a cream and in future whether there might be loss of hair or no growth of hair if this dandruff problem continues...:(

after applcatn of this cortisone-like steroid cream/ointment/lotion, if your child is having acne like pimples, allergic skin rashes that appears after the applicatn and thn goes away, boils around the area of the applcatn,ne excess dryness,excess itching,colord patches on skin, prickly heat, ne softning of skin, ne stretch like marks,or deposits in the folicles or hair or root of hair,,thn make it a concern to your dr.

your child is sufferng from inflammatory skin conditions and for that this has been prescribed...
apply this as suggested by your dr.

once your child is 9months and onwards, let me know,i will give you some home remedies and by then i expect your child immature skin to mature to some level that it can handle the home remedies applicatn.

dont worry, do as directed by your dr for all applicatn,as it is infant hair is lost in first 6months irrespective of danruff like situations,,so no worries.

Anu replied. i don't know about the medicines but if your doc has prescribed the cream, i think it should be safe.
i hope your dd gets better soon.
