Sleeping:8 months old baby not sleeping in the nite

Hi
My 8 month old baby gets up very often in the nite, and he demands for BM and if i try giving him a bottle he gets very hysterical and cries more. so i feed him BM, but off late i m noticing that he is getting up once in a hr and demanding for milk, he jus keeps in his mouth and sleeps, i tried keeping pacifier or bottles but its of no use. He sleeps only around 10.30 - 11. I am a working mother and find very diff to manage my office as well. Can someone suggest how to get him rid of his BM habit in his sleep. i tried feeding milk b4 sleeping he does not take more than 30 ml or max 50 ml of milk. From the time he is born he is actually used to short eats and never was on shcedule. In india actually no one follows schedule parents at time force us to cater to the imm need of the child, and they dont like if v want to push them on schedule. If anyone of u have come across similar situation pls advice thanks

First of all, do not give you kid cows milk till he is 1 year old. Have to agree with Anita on this.

Also, do not feed him in the bed. That is a bad habit. My son is 16 months old and he still wants to be fed in the bed. If only my wife had listened to me when i told her not to feed him the bed. Can you imagine 8 or maybe more of months going through this routine !!? :) so stop and stop now.

To begin with feed him just before he goes to bed. usually that should take care of it for atleast next four hours.

dr.shah, i am sorry to disagree with you, but cows milk can not be given to 8month old child.for your information, jayphal is called nutmeg in english.

also my ped strictly told me to avoid it.He said,it is not advisable to give for babies below 9months. i already confirmed with my ped dr.my mother in law wanted to give that to my daughter, when she was crying.i asked my ped, he refused.

my baby was very fussy at midnights from 9months.I asked Hetal and with her reply i found that my baby was not comfortable with her meals in later noon. and i was able to track the problem. its been 9 days, now my baby sleeps very well.i just had to change her diet in afternoon meals and onwards.thanks to Hetal, she helped me work out the whole diet plan.
so thats the only thing i can advice you.

ush, be careful before you use any advices. also i would advice you to ask Hetal or someone else who has a better reliable answer on a different board.Hetal does not visit this board very often.

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
