anyone has crossed their challenge ??? is your baby latching and having enuf milk.. what about ur milk supply..

r u guys giving formula or pumped milk??

my baby becomes very cranky at night times.. though i try to feed him for 30 mins he cries a lot and wants more.. think night my supply is very very low.. i give him my pumped milk and sometimes if i dont get enuf milk from pumping i am forced to give FORMULA :((

i eat garlic, milk and methi seeds.. still awaiting improvements in the milk supply.. some moms say it might take another wk or so to improve the supply..

can anyone give some more suggestions to improve the supply??? sometimes i doubt whether baby latches properly and drinks milk!!! so much confusion..

Suki vara replied. Hi Suki, I am doing good but only with the shield. I am not daring to try without it. I am afraid of sore nipples. Let this go on for 1 more week and may be then I will take a chance.

I do not want to give formula nor go for pumping. But u don't be nervous. I heard from so many moms who fed only formula but kids did well as other kids. So pl don't feel bad if u r giving formula. Baby's satisfaction is more imp whichever milk u r giving. By god's grace my milk supply is good and my baby looks satisfied after 20 mts of latching. she sleeps well for every 2 hrs.

Priya replied. Babies tend to have a cranky period during the day my son is the same at night he gets cranky and demands more milk this is normal.
Dont cry,,, you know you are a good mother breast milk or formula whichever way if your baby is helthy and happy then you are doing a great job! :)
keep pumping to increase milk supply i was drinking dill water and also drinking cocnut water this help increase milk supply ..every mother is diff your body may be designed to only produce certain amont of milk right now shoul be aroung 1-2oz the more you breaset feed the more you will produce milk ...mothers milk is very thin in content and is easily digested by babies therefore they get hungary quickly baby should be on breast 15 mins each side continuous feeding if baby is not latching on well then inc to 30 mins and after that give formula this will give you a break and baby will be happy too baby should have 6 wet diapers in a day to ensure he/she is feeding well
Priya July 2005 Veenu replied. suki - Let's not give hope. If we r depressed things won't improve. We have to keep bycking ourselves up! I too give one time formula at night and pump my milk during that time. so 1 time formula and 1 time pumped milk at night so it gives me little nergy to be ready for morning BF...

Methi seeds has helped my milk supply and hot water shower... also I am taking lot of fluid intake - milk , ajwain water. And I eat panjiri (Punjabi make it during pregnacy... dry fruits and so..)

I also get tired... Baby is latching properly befre that was the problem... I try to keep my coo and talk to him,sing to him and trying to be happy during feeding...

But in my one of the query I don't know when to stop... as he is feeding every now and then.. I guess it is naother phase and pass.. Hopefuly by our baby's one month we can say things are improving...Hope for the best and let keep supporting each other in this difficult phase of ours...

I would say I too get emotional time to time and cry but then hold myself together to face another challenge...
