Its like 6 months of breastfeeding is mandatory as for the 1st 6 months the baby is only given mother's milk and nothing else. After that it depends on your body if it still produces milk. According to my knowledge my grand ma used to say me that in earlier days mother used to feed her baby until five years but now no one is doing until some years of feeding and making for baby to drink packet milk only.But according to me mothers milk is good for baby only. swapna replied. there is nothing wrong in bresat feeding your child for maximum years. i know a women who used to breast fed his child till he was 3.5 years old but you should understad that your keed also need some other food to as he is not just remained a baby. he needs more to grow up.
