My name is Sathya. I am a silent visitor of this forum. I am 30 yrs old and my DH is 33. We have been married for 7 years. We've been trying ttc for 4 yrs. I am diagnosed with balanced translocation. It's a chromosomal abnormality which causes recurrent miscarriages (I have had 4 painful, early miscarriages).

I currently live in the USA. My OBGYN suggested me to either go for donor egg and IVF or to go for PGD (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis) and IVF. Our insurance doesn't cover either one. It costs about $20,000 per cycle. I am thinking of going to India and do PGD and IVF.
Can any of you suggest me a good IVF hospitals or clinics (with PGD facility) in Chennai?
How much does it usually cost for IVF? And PGD?
After the IVF procedure (around 4 months in to pregnancy), will the hospital allow me to come back to US for delivery?

I would really appreciate any help. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hi Sathya, there are a lot of doctors and good hospitals in India. If you can tell us on which city are you getting shifted accordingly we can provide you with the best suggestion on doctor.

I think the cost of in vitro in india is around 25,000 or 50,000 per cycle but i am not very sure about the price as all the doctors have their own rate of the treatment and the fees varies from doctor to doctor.

IN India there were many hospitals who will help you with the best treatment and it will be done also.You will cure your problem from the doctors so that there will not be any problem also.

Hi sathya,
I would give one suggestion please do not take it so harshly you can accept it if you are okay only the thing instead of searching for egg donors you just adopt the child and it would not requires more amount also.

I have also Balanced reciprocal Translocation problem. I just read your post. Even I am interested in knowing whether PGD is available or not. I am also in USA. Here our insurance does not cover anything. So I am also wondering whether Successful PGD is available in India?

Sathya,

As far as PGD is concern, no one does in chennai. But in website and brochure they promise, in reality they have to send the samples to bangalore or other cities to get the results. It will take a weeks time. So be careful in checking it. You can contact Madras Medical Mission,(IRM Unit) they have good success rate in IVF/ICSI. I met a couple who were leaving to US in 24weeks of pregnancy after IVF treatment in MMM.

I heard it will cost around 2 or 3 lacks in India for whole treatment. Yes, u can able to come to US after 4 or 5 months. Doctors i will check with some of my friends and let u know
