Hi.. my son is 7 months old now and i plan to travel in march to the US.. east coast(NJ). He will be around 10 months old then.
1)how can i manage him on the flight.
2)once i get there how do i help him transit the time change. he sleeps thru the nite now .. hoping to get him to do the same once he gets there.. how do i do it?
3) will it be very cold then and what do i need to take with me for clothing him?
4) what are the other things that my child might need that i should take from here or get ready with?

Welcome to US.Dont worry about the flight.you can request for Bassinet while booking your ticket and go early to the air port and make sure you request and get the bassinet.
you can try feeding him with cerelac or any other instant cereals.even if he doesent eat dont worry try brestfeeding or bottlefeeding him.and make sure to keep him hydrated.
try feeding him or give him something to suck during take off and landings.if he refuses to such hold him upright,so his ears wont hurt.
you can bring him sweaters and blanlkets.rest you can buy it from here.if you are comming after march then weather will become better.
you can bring your pressure cooker if he is used to rice and dhal.you will get mostly all kinds of indian groceries and veggis in indian stores.if you are used to making idlis then you can get a table top wet grinder and idli steamer from india.
if your husband is already working here then choose his pediatrition before and dont forget to bring his immunisation and other health records.
it will take a few days to adjust to the time difference, but dont worry kids will adjust soon.during the weekends in the late afternoon take him to mall or some to some toy shop,so he will not sleep during that time and sleep in night.
so have a nice trip.

hello jayashree
dont get afraid and dont loose hopes, your son is absolutely fine, and give him the proper tuition and avoid more playing periods of his, and you should teach him at home when you will get free time.... - praglabh [View Message]
