In my previous message I forgot to ask one more question that is bothering me. My baby's doctor says not to feed him anything (sugar water, cows milk, hot water) other than breast milk for the first three months. Since I have very less breast milk, at night times it becomes very difficult to console the kid. Can you please tell me is it so?

Suggestion

Hi gals,
Can i suggest you something probably might increase your BM.
Try consuming GALACT,its an ayurvedic powder..Take it with milk twice daily.
This will help in increasing your breast milk naturally without any side-effects...
It has surely helped me.

Milky issues

Hi Shubha,
My son is 15 days old and i to hae the same problem as you- i.e insuficeint BM so i feed my son powder milk at nights and a few feeds during the day also.

What u can do if you dont want to use powder milk at all is use a breast pump and keep ready for the night time. My son is not able to feed directly from the breast cause my milk supply is not flowing well, so i use the pump and feed hm through bottle. That way im happy hes having my milk and hes also satisfied.

some suggestions

hi there,

as per my grandma, constipation occurs if your food intake is falling short of requirements. for constipation, soak about 7-8 black currants (manuka) and 1 dry fig in some water in the morning. have the soaked fruits along with the water before going to bed. it will help you a lot.

for milk, some suggestions from my experience -
1) drink 2 teaspoons of shatavari kalpa in a glass of milk twice a day.
2) drink kheers made of khaskhas, rawa, sago.
3) ginger-khaskas barfi is also recommended.

all these are traditional maharashtrian remedies - might differ from community to community.

pump out your milk and feed it to the baby if the baby is not sucking much. this will also increase the flow.

also, if hte baby's weight gain etc, is as per chart then your milk is not insufficient even if you may think it is.
