Hi Friends,

Just had a dr visit to confirm the pregnancy. everything was normal. One thing was that the doctor said that my progesterone level was little low. And it causes problems only in 5%-10%of the cases. But to be on the safer side he gave a progestrone medicine which we need to keep daily in the vagina for the coming 3 months so as to avoid miscarriage.

did any of u had similar medication prescribed? is it common? need suggestion pls.

I was also administered oral progesterone tablets and i think that does not harm your baby but really helps to rule out the risk.

hey ,
i am from dec 06 board, i was also on progesterone supplements for the first 12 weeks ....

it is safe and most doctors prescribe it, more to be on the safer side ....

generally after 12 weeks, the placenta starts producing progesterone, hence this is discontinued ....

i do not know of any side-effects on the baby other than it will amke you feel more tired and more breat tenderness,etc. due to high progesterone, but it is worth all that for a healthy baby in the end :) ...
