Hi, I've been on accutane 2x. The first time I had 2 years of baby-like skin. The second time, more recently, my acne has come back in under a year. It's not regular acne, I'm told. It's cystic. I'm very sad that this is happening. I'm sorry, but I don't think lemon or anything fixes acne. People should look into Vitamin A deficiencies, since Accutane is Vitamin A and it's the only thing that really clears up acne. Unfortunately, Viatmin A tablets on their own and carrots do nothing either. I think it is more systemic. The body is not processing Vitamin A efficiently. I also think that once the cause is found the world will owe acne sufferers a big apology, because there are many myths, like being oversexed and preferring chocolates, which are very untrue from my experience. Lemon doesnt fix acne, quite right.
But Vitamin A deficieny has nothing to do with Acne, its just that VIT A dries up the excessive oil in your body, which is the root cause of acne. That doesnt meant you dont eat oil, you eat some part of it, but over active hormones make more sebum, sebum blocks hair follicles, that cause acne.
Choclates and being over sexed has no part in having acne. Hormones do, and so does dandruff.
I am thinking there is a bigger reason behind your recent cystic outburst. You need to get your hormones
re-evaluated and get some other tests done too.
Apart from that, dont dose on Vitamin A, too much of A causes toxicity, thats why during accutane, the doctors are supposed to monitor you.
Almost every next day, people come out with new finds in the acne field, so sometimes they find faults with choclates, sometimes they dont.
Tretinoin, or Retino -a topical creams are all derivates of Vitamin A.
Just dont gulp loads of Vit A, might cause toxicity.
Vitamin A tablets on their own are prescribed for acne problems, in limited doses, but it depends from acne to acne. Some acne needs antifungal or antibiotic agents to clear up cause they are cause by microbes. Most of the acne cause by teen sebaceous glands overactivity needs a bit of VIT A to diminish the extra oil.
